Apologize for my ignorance, but I would understand that this is a software for the sake of video color correction. How did you use it with pictures?

I'm interested because I saw that there's a free version which also runs under Linux and the results it gave with your pictures are quite pleasant indeed.

Thanks in advance,

Bruno

Hi Bruno : yes, due to this software only reads TIFF and the details that it gets from the file is a lot more than other photo process software. I had compared some photos and many details (especially dark area) are recovered. I am still learning how to use this software but if we cand find the LUT for Fuji and Kodak, all the digital photos can similate a film like out put~~~ not to discuss more here...and here is one more using this process from a Kinoptik Fulgior 50mm f1.3 + M9p

Cheers,

Jeff

[EDIT]: Oh, this is the Older Glass thread - lucky me, not shooting much recent lenses, so added lens info:

90 Summicron pre ASPH E55:

The E55 90/2 has been on the camera that day for a tryout - it was once my absolute favourite 90mm, but now I feel, even this beautiful pre ASPH 90mm looks a bit dead and lifeless, compared to the wonderful ~90 mm Sonnar lenses around.

After a day's shooting, the pre ASPH Summicron went back into the dry cabinet. I plan to keep it as the perfect companion with the M3 and pushed TriX though.

Don't be too hard on it. This is a great picture. I wouldn't call it lifeless:p

Thanks for the kind comments guys but I do indeed think that everyone, who has a few different lenses in the same focal length range has a favourite for it's character (that seems to change depending on weather, moon phase, …).

My favourite at the moment is clearly not the Summicron. Imagine, this had been shot with a 85mm Sonnar - imagine the creamy Sonnar background, opposed to the mushy wild Summicron background - I think, the shot would have been better - but of course this is all contemplation about a thing, done and finished …

My lesson: next time take the Nikkor 85 instead …

Btw - Jean-Marc - I love, how your Summar turned out after CLA (is that the one?) - the imaging looks stunning! I love this liquid look with endless tones (I am not so fond of hazy glow, which kit showed earlier before cleaning - my 7.3cm Hektor was similar before cleaning).

Actually I have 2 Summar lenses.

- One from 1936 which makes the highlights glow heavily under sunny conditions even after a thorough cleaning (to quote a lens tech who checked it out: "its "soft" front glass is uneven") . The first 2 shots posted recently were taken on the beach in overcast weather hence this "liquid" or creamy look but no glow.

- I just tested the 1934 Summar after it was cleaned. It has a different rendering as seen in the portrait above. It handled flare very nicely for such an old lens.

Each sample with its own charm !

I have yet to try both lenses in similar conditions.

Anyone with Summar shots to share?
