1967 35mm Summaron f2.8 on M10 Monochrom.

Taken at 11.00am!

Hi Keith,

I notice some haloing at the edges of the ladies' dark trousers and because of the M10M's purpose-designed sensor I'm curious where it's come from so would you very kindly offer your opinion whether it's straight from the M10M's sensor or whether they might be sharpening artefacts please?

Pete.

My, what sharp eyes you have! ;)  There is a hint of it in the  .dng  but a similar tonal transition in #5412 does not have any halo.  Below is a closer view (300%) of the areas of dark clothing / light background,  exported as a 950px .jpg by LR.

My apologies, Keith, I wasn't looking to pick holes but the haloing is more visible on my screen in the original picture you posted than in the enlarged picture so I'm left to assume that they are haloing artefacts produced by the forum's software algorithms.  Thank you for responding. 😊

Absolutely no apology needed Pete, it was an interesting observation and I had not noticed the halo.  In future I will try to monitor such 'hard' edges for any similar effect.

I do not have a favorite lens, I wish I did ...

Your photos with  the 35 Nikkor 1.8 are very nice  🙂

Just a test shot, first landscape out of camera with this lens. Arrived just hours ago.  Looking forward to testing images of humans and favorite 'things' before deciding if it's found a permanent home. But must say, rather enjoying the softer feel. Words of wisdom/experience always appreciated.
