Thank you Chris! Perhaps you could help me pick my next camera?

Well, I traded in my M262 for the SL2-S (sacrilege, I know) but kept 2 M lenses which I love using on it. I will get another M before I’m too old to use one and would either return to the M262 (much underrated and simpler as a digital M - and as the shots on this thread show, probably great with older glass). Or, I’d go for an M-10 or M-10P in silver chrome. So, if that has helped, let me know when you get yours! 😂😂

I’ll now clear off before I’m chucked out for not sticking to the older glass topic. Have a bloody great Christmas everyone 👍😉

M11-D Wollensak TV Raptar 2.04” f1.5 shot wide open.

A bit of info on this lens as I didn’t know much about it and can’t find much online either. When I told a famous Japanese artisan https://fotomutori.com (who converts Cine lenses to M mount, using the Amadeo mount, which allows for 0.65m focus) the kind of rendering I liked he suggested me to look at the Angenieux S21 50mm f1.5 lens. When I told him it’s a bit too large/heavy for what I want and too expensive for a portrait-only lens, he suggested that I check Wollensak Raptar lenses, as they produced a similar kind of rendering, but at a much cheaper price.

He had two Wollensak lenses, the Cine Raptar, and the Television Raptar 2.04 (51.8mm) f1.5. After trying both, and enjoying them a lot, he told me that the Television Raptar is the rarer of the two and also has a different optical formula, with the Cine raptar being a more common 6 elements in 4 groups, whereas the television raptar is 7 elements in 5 groups, similar to that of the pre-asph lux 35mm.

*Fun fact about the maker: Wollensak was a company based in NY, and after the war Leica commissioned them to build the Wollensak 5cm f3.5 (similar to Elmar) during a time Leica had shortages.

This is my first time using a Cine lens, and so far I’m enjoying it a lot especially for portraits or more moody shots. I don’t think the file resolution here will make it justice though, but sharing anyway. Any other advice / samples of the Cine lenses other users here love?
