Thanks for sharing. Joe D Given the relatively small rear element of the 35/3.5, I'd be willing to bet he's not getting much more than the 24x36 frame for which it was designed. I would be interested to see what the entire uncropped image looks like. Must be strange seeing an image within a circle.

Thanks for sharing. Joe D Here is a screen capture of the unprocessed raw as opened in Raw Therapee (which of course supplies the gray border and reports the image dimensions at upper left). For reference, if you set the camera to 3:2 aspect ratio, the camera JPG image is 8256 x 5504 pixels. The sensor is 43.8 x 32.9 mm. As you see, vignette goes to near black in the corners, but one does not see an "image circle" while shooting. You can crop out the corners by pulling in the sides or by chopping off the top and bottom or by something between these extremes. Welcome, dear visitor! I've been curious about image circle of older Leitz lenses on the GFX sensor. Have you considered creating a post dedicated to showing the coverage of various lenses? Here is the 24mm x 36mm frame superimposed on the raw image. There is actually quite a reasonable amount of coverage before hard vignetting ensues. I'm sure the image quality quick deteriorates in this region so it wouldn't be very good for critical landscape or architecture. I've found a lot of old lenses will cover adequately as long as you don't want edge to edge sharpness which in my opinion - except in special cases - is way overrated. Keith (M) Posted May 23, 2020 Share #5895 Posted May 23, 2020 Three very disparate subjects from a local stroll Friday afternoon. 5cm Summicron Collapsible LTM (with orange filter) on M10M.
