So there are two errors in JMato's post headline then. Not too shabby out of three words and a number...!

(Could it be that he meant 2013 and not 1993... ;)  )

No.. only one mistake. :)

You guys are one unforgiving bunch !!! .... But that's ok. Now you will never forget when was PANSTARRS last approach. Take this as a lesson in astronomy from a fellow member. :D :D :D

True, just the one... That's ME not thinking it through... :)

Since I am now thinking again... Just now I turned on the notification for replies to my post. This way my dumbass moments (yes, there will be more) will be corrected sooner but I will still rely on others to point it out. :D

Alright.. back to pictures.

M240+40 summicron-C

I love this picture. First time I was out in the rain hiking with Leica. It was just me, rain and nobody on the trail. I had the entire hill to myself.

Quite sharp (where it need to be) with enough depth due to out of focus foreground and background when viewed in big size. I have been planning to print it big for some time now.

(I know it won't get any awards but all parents think their child is the most beautiful. :)

I seem to be building a collection of "Keep Out" signs with my W-Nikkor 3.5cm f/1.8:

This is a local remnant of the cold war - one of approx 1500 Royal Observer Corps underground observation posts built across the UK to plot where nuclear bombs exploded and monitor the fallout. Further details here: http://www.roc-heritage.co.uk/underground-posts.html

On the other side of the fence (again with the W-Nikkor 3.5cm f/1.8):

The blue tank is a later addition on top of the entrance to stop the local youth from exploring the underground room. In the middle, the short pipe sticking up is where the periscope would have been to observe the direction of the nuclear explosion flash and on the left is the ventilation shaft.

Dear all,

As quite a few of you are still using Barnack-type Leica cameras (screw-mount, earlier fixed lens ones and 0-series replicas), I wanted to draw your attention to the latest iteration of the Barnack challenge. Details can be found here:

http://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/256754-the-challenge/?do=findComment&comment=2989498

Best regards,

Christoph
