Post-war, coated 50 f/1.5 Zeiss Opton Sonnar wide open with M9-P.

he he- I had to look close at this one- I go to an annual camera fair in my city and it looks 100% just exactly like this. I had to look at the background to assure myself it was really somewhere else. That guy looks exactly like the guys where I go- and they have the same exact camera collections as him: the old Bolex, a cute Rollei 4x4 baby, Nikon F maybe , some old canonet (shutter wont fire).... mamiya c330, assorted out of date films and unusual odd format WW2 era film cannisters. And the price is always just a bit too high... or mostly always. But you buy a hood or filter anyhows... And then the next year- that same guy is back with most of the same cameras, year after year....

still I love to go. :)

Lovely thread with these older lenses. Here's one with a new to me Nikkor SC 5cm f/1.4 ltm at 16" MFD. The EVF could be useful at times for focus assist.

Leica 50mm Summicron type1 collapsible

This is a big enlargement, so I am happy.

The detail and tonal separation is very impressive in this picture, Jean-Marc.

Thanks Ecar!

Indeed, it was shot around f5.6 and this lens keeps surprising me !

Cheers

This is Saeed of Shadwell who is Bangladeshi and was "taking some sun" when I met him this morning. Saeed has lived in Shadwell, east London, for 30 years after living in Birmingham and Doncaster too. I asked Saeed if Shadwell had changed much during the 30 years he's lived there and he rolled his eyes, smiled sadly and told me that it is nothing like it used to be. He told me that you used to be able to trust local people but you can't anymore and that local people used to look out for each other but that's gone too.

Saeed's friends affectionately call him Santa.
