Advertisement Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 Hi Scarlet, Take a look here I love my MP. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andyedward Posted July 27, 2012 Share #2722 Posted July 27, 2012 It has the old style film counter beneath the advance lever, so it does look like the LHSA

andyedward Posted August 22, 2012 Share #2726 Posted August 22, 2012 FWIW, my local dealer today told me that MPs are now made to order instead of in batches.
philipus Posted August 22, 2012 Share #2727 Posted August 22, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) MPs have always appealed to me if it weren't for that small shutter dial. I guess that can't be changed, can it?

andyedward Posted August 28, 2012 Share #2729 Posted August 28, 2012 Has anyone recently received their brand new MP, and if so, how long did it take to arrive from the date it was ordered? Nearly 8 weeks later my MP still hasn't arrived, though I have thankfully borrowed an M6 ttl

I saw the post you mentioned, but I thought a la carte MPs were delivered to a different timescale to the standard one I have ordered(?)
andybarton Posted August 28, 2012 Share #2733 Posted August 28, 2012 MPs and M7s are made in batches. If you are lucky and get into the end of one batch delivery can by quite quick. If you're not so lucky you might have to wait until the next batch is built. That's regardless of alc. Leica don't hold stock any more.
andyedward Posted August 28, 2012 Share #2734 Posted August 28, 2012 Mine took about three months. 3 months??!! Youre kidding me, right?!
andybarton Posted August 28, 2012 Share #2735 Posted August 28, 2012 Mine took about 6 weeks from memory. 3 months isn't unusual if you hit the batches at the wrong time. Your dealer should be able to let you know when yours is likely to be made. Mine did. Mine actually came quicker than I was advised. I was told to expect 2-3 months.

Andy, I recall you also mentioned in a previous post that MPs are made in batches, and I was certain of this until last week when a member of Stephens staff said they are made to order, though batch production seems more plausible to me. My MP will arrive when it arrives, I guess.
