I have a 12C and two 18Cs in my drawer somewhere. I never used them to anything like their potential. Probably a bit like my cameras in that respect. You're already getting exactly what you want out of the M240 - and the shooting experience is fabulous." The right side of my brain says "Wait until lightly used M10's appear, as you did with M9 to M240 (with 1 yr warranty)." The perennial conflict: want vs. need. We'll see what they have for us - no need to speculate until then - but its so fun to do! (Downloaded DNG's @ very high iso from Q's make for a compelling argument - expanded shooting opportunities.) The 18C was very definitely designed with finance in mind (it was an indispensable element in the growth of the derivatives market: hallelujah!) , along with other things that require a bit of adding up. Given the fact that Leica's lag behind in electronics (well, M specifically) but excel in mechanicals, I guess slide rule discussion is more appropriate than calculators. My dad had one. If you were a fan of watching football on UK TV you'd appreciate that sliderules are very necessary pieces of equipment for the most accurate passers of the ball, although calculators can be essential if you want to work out how many points a team needs to avoid relegation on the last day of the season. The key is, so many people say that it is so much easier to achieve reliably accurate focussing of M lenses on the SL than it is on the M, and quite frankly, that is ridiculous. Both have downsides too. I love my M but I'd try an SL if it didn't have the usual commercial crap of a huge LEICA badge and the red dot. Too ugly like that! Fair enough, but surely the beauty of its implementation as an additional feature that some people value forcoccasional use is that it is so unobtrusive that if you don't use it you can genuinely forget that it's there.
