lct Posted November 26, 2016 Share #61 Posted November 26, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Why? I like to focus without having to twiddle knobs and rockers. Readjust your POV...and expose. [...] No problem at small apertures but may give wrong focusings at wide aperture due to field curvature. Happens with all my lenses at the exception perhaps of the 50/2 apo. But even there i would use moveable focus point to nail focus at f/2 in the corners if needed. YMMV. Advertisement Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 Hi lct, Take a look here Next generation M will be the M11 (not the M10). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted November 26, 2016 Share #62 Posted November 26, 2016 I'm a bit jealous. I rarely come across subjects that require such exacting technique .
lct Posted November 26, 2016 Share #63 Posted November 26, 2016 I'm a bit jealous. I rarely come across subjects that require such exacting technique . I have lived happily for 30+ years w/o that but it is a useful tool i would miss if i had not it on my Fuji, Panasonic and Sony cameras. As for my M240 it remains in its bag when i need that. jaapv Posted November 26, 2016 Share #64 Posted November 26, 2016 Not my way of taking photographs, more for the macro studio, I guess.
FrozenInTime Posted November 26, 2016 Share #65 Posted November 26, 2016 Corner focus point might have been useful here. Focus was set on woman in the print entering car - 28mm Summilux @f/1.4 on MM. But now, knowing the lens a bit better, I would focus on the right edge of the photo frame then re-compose. ( slight crop and rotation applied )
hoppyman Posted November 27, 2016 Share #66 Posted November 27, 2016 it didn't take long for the discussion to evolve here ;-)For my two cents, the features being mentioned as desired sound a lot like the SL.I am one of the more traditional M users perhaps, who thinks that the unique rangefinder and viewfinder system with the M lenses as they are, are strengths of that system. The RF as it is and the newest lenses are the best quality that they have ever produced.I do have the SL and an S too so I am not averse to the possibilities of the AF systems and the EVF in the SL. That camera has its own strengths and limitations as well. I actually shoot with my M little now because I am involved in different photography styles best suited to the other systems. What suits you is much affected by the type of photography that you like to do as well as personal preferences. As a personal opinion I think that it would be a mistake for Leica Camera to change the nature of the M system further. However everyone's entitled to express their opinion of course and I don't own Leica Camera ( although I may have done my share in financing them )
Herr Barnack Posted December 10, 2016 Share #67 Posted December 10, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I hereby propose that the next M should be named not the M10 or the M11, but rather it should be named the Zelda. Why Zelda, you ask? Zelda would be a good name for a female dog, cat, rabbit or ferret. Leica should give its M cameras pet names.

epand56 Posted December 10, 2016 Share #69 Posted December 10, 2016 We Leica people are no more photographers, we are just starving for the next model. I saw people speculating on the next camera features one month after the M 240 was on the market. I think the great part of people here want no more the M philosophy, they just want a hybrid between a DSRL and a mirrorless camera that looks like an M and have features of an airliner jet (GPS, autopilot, beacon flight recorder, parachute, etc.). When I look at my M8 i know it's with me since 2007 and i'm still using it. And I like the way she's getting old with me.
