marchyman Posted November 28, 2016 Share #21 Posted November 28, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yep, That's them. Also made by Sanyo. 2450MaH. Panasonic acquired Sanyo in 2009/2010. The Sanyo brand has mostly disappeared. Here in the US Eneloops have been branded as Panasonic for the last couple of years. You may still see some Sanyo branded batteries and chargers on store shelves -- old stock, I think.
Advertisement Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 Hi marchyman, Take a look here Typ 240 with Flash. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
FlashGordonPhotography Posted November 28, 2016 Share #22 Posted November 28, 2016 Thanks. Didn't know that. My newer batteries are Panasonic but I still use much older Sanyo ones and they still work fine. Gordon
jto555 Posted November 29, 2016 Share #23 Posted November 29, 2016 Have a look at the Ni-Zn AA size battries. The great thing about these batteries is that they are 1.6v instead of 1.2v for normal recargeable. https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=ni+zn+batteries With the higher voltage they reduce the recharge time to about 3 seconds. I use them in my SF 58 flash and in the SF 40.
Peter H Posted November 29, 2016 Share #24 Posted November 29, 2016 Any more recommendations for portable lighting for outside and occasional studio use along the lines of Godox and Quadra Trios?
Luke_Miller Posted November 29, 2016 Author Share #25 Posted November 29, 2016 If I were starting fresh I would consider the Godox AD600 or one of its re-badged versions. http://www.godox.com/EN/Products_Camera_Flash_Witstro_AD600_Powerfou&Portable_Flash.html Powerful, wireless control, and battery powered. tpf1952 Posted December 3, 2016 Share #27 Posted December 3, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've never had that using Envelop Pros. Apart from some auto ISO and exposure preview bugs, I find the SF64 very good on the SL. I use TTL normally and auto for backlit subjects and it works as expected. The M is more problematic because of it's weird metering off the shutter curtain. Direct flash with the SF40 and diffuser attached gives reasonable results. Certainly better than bounce flash. They do make a difference. Thanks for the tip. Kind regards, Tom
