experimental landscapes

Yes, as an experiment I would say it's working. You're getting a nice eerie look here.

It's funny that Leica spend millions on research, and we spend thousands on the fruit of that research, reducing vignetting to industry leading low levels and just because it is currently trendy - and Photoshop allows us to add it easily - many of us are adding it back in. Myself included :)

Sta Monica? I think a large part of the success of #1 is due to the impossible-to-exist lighting, no doubt caused by floodlights at the base of the tree. #2 has an interesting pattern and light, but I long for more DOF. Next time with a tripod?

i love them very much. both

the first one has good sense of curiosity and misterious, as if u see the land for the first time and try to get used to the mesterious virgin look of something. almost mistique sense to it :)) sense of discovery

the second, has a little compositional awkwardness, but generally i love the heavy feeling of the trees inside the land. and the "tunels" the arrangement creates.

u have some more???? or at least plan???

Thanks for the input!

Yep, Sta. Monica. Good call on the floodlights. I used a tripod actually but it was so dark, would be interesting to see the change w/ more DOF. Those 2 up top are the best (to me) but here's a few more in the same vein. Still trying to come up w/ a plan.

Kevin,

I like the first 2 the most as well, though the "rainbow effect" of the moving palm fronds in the last picture is interesting. I always thought that the tree in the first picture would make an interesting subject, but I haven't thought about a night shot. Good job!

How did you manage to scare away all the homeless? Palisades Park is usually packed with them. There is not a one in your shot!

The first one does and last one might perhaps profit from an open lens, the others do this definitely not. But they would have been interesting using f8 or 11 with a tripod or even Monopod.. ( I know, I know.... ;) )

The first one is really good.

I personally like #1 on your first post, and absolutely love #2 on your second post.

I am no expert so cannot offer any advice, but for me, it's a subject worth shooting, well done.

Chris
