frame line removal

Hi guys,

 

 

I used the search function but did not find anything.

 

Is there a way to let Leica remove some of the frame lines? I find the big bright lines very distractive, especially when using the 50, the 75 lines are a pita.

Leica used to offer this service; no idea whether they still do, just ask them.

Sometilmes money talks....and might help, too, if you're not in a rush.

 

Keep in mind that resale would likely be affected, and probably not for the better unless you got lucky.  This is not one of the a la carte options (the term you might try if you want to search).

 

Did you try different frame line colors?

I owned a 240 some years ago, as it (she?) came out. I sold it as I thought it is too slow for weddings and shot my M9 for personal work.

 

I just got another M 240 (bargain) and was surprised how ugly and prominent the framlines are. Had it not that bad i my memory. Really annoying. Destroys the "feeling" of the subject when looking through the VF with the 50. The M9 tramlines are so much more elegant. Pity.

Matter of tastes, i prefer M240 framelines by far but i still regret 50mm are paired with 75mm. Old rant from the eighties...

I called Leica today. They said it is not possible to remove any frame-lines at the Leica M 240. Pity.
