Perhaps ;-) Â I have the brass bodied M6, with a titanium finish. It feels nice. Â The chrome M6 I have feels very similar to the above. Â The MP, I have the black paint, is lux and very nice. But I don't think there is that much difference. Â Oh and I changed the rewind handle on the chrome M6. That is the biggest difference for me between the MP and standard M6. If you want them to not be different, then you don't pick a different model of camera. Pick the same, instead. Â I think it looks more elegant then the M3 which has all those excess metal surfaces. Something about. Too soon to spell it out. Welcome to the MP fold! Over a lengthy career I 've had a lot of cameras. Most were for work and some for play but most are forgotten once upgraded or changed in favour of something else. My MP endures, it's travelled with me for over a decade and I wouldn't be without it. I have a choice of four Leica lenses, sometimes I take only the one on the camera, sometimes I take 2, 3 or all 4 lenses. It's a camera that I enjoy using and it doesn't need to earn it's keep. It just happens to be an MP. I'm not tempted by any other Leica camera, old or current. Â When you have had a period of time to put a few miles and adventures behind you with your MP, you might feel the same. I hope you enjoy using it. For me the most important: accurate speed, large and bright view finder, reliable film advance, accurate light meter. Nothing more. I own myself an M6 for a couple of months and it has some flaws but mostly fits to my needs. Now, I tried M3 and MP... The first one was a wonderful machine, just missing the light meter. Then I tried the MP from a friend... light meter was completely broken... to be honest I did not see too much difference. OK, maybe materials are better, viewfinder is better, advance crank is nicer... but price is different too.  So, I would say if I consider a camera as a tool M6 fits my needs respect to MP. It feels the same but at the same time difference. There is perhaps a little more weight to the MP... I've not weighed them. I like have several film bodies as I shoot different films and with prices quite cheap, they are easier to get hold of than before. BUT I think prices for film bodies are increasing again.
