erudolph Posted November 4, 2016 Share #1 Posted November 4, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Since I never shoot video I didn't realize that my video button seems to be stuck. Today I discovered it doesn't travel when pressed. Am I doing something wrong?
Advertisement Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 Hi erudolph, Take a look here Video Button Stuck?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
FlashGordonPhotography Posted November 4, 2016 Share #2 Posted November 4, 2016 It should feel exactly the same as the live view button. If it doesn't then it's seized somehow and probably needs to be serviced at some point. Gordon
erudolph Posted November 4, 2016 Author Share #3 Posted November 4, 2016 Thanks Gordon. I will get it serviced but not any time in the near future, given that I don't use it and given the general experience with service at Leica USA.
ramarren Posted November 4, 2016 Share #4 Posted November 4, 2016 Why don't you disable the video button as a release unless in video capture mode and assign some other function to it (like you can do with fw 2.0+)? That way you don't accidentally switch the camera to video mode and you keep the switch active so it doesn't get jammed up... I currently have the video release button assigned to give me direct access to the user profiles menu. I use all four profiles actively, and swap between them reasonably often. The video release becomes a video release only when I first tap the Video/Still mode button to switch over to the video mode.
screwmount Posted November 4, 2016 Share #5 Posted November 4, 2016 Does that make sense, when the button doesn't work? ???
ramarren Posted November 4, 2016 Share #6 Posted November 4, 2016 The notion is to have it fixed, if it is actually stuck and won't loosen, then use it.
wlaidlaw Posted November 4, 2016 Share #7 Posted November 4, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I had the opposite problem with my M240 after it came from having its lugs tightened. The video button was stuck down and it took videos all the time. As I declined to have my M240 taken apart yet again, Leica gave me a new one.
