I just bought my summaron 28 mm and it is splendid.

I can put the M11-M set with the summaron in the inner pocket of my jacket! What freedom

It is so tiny that you have to be careful with your left hand when shooting (the shadow in the bottom right corner is the shadow of one of my fingers)

I just got one, too (Re-Issue). Love the size and the output.

The moon and a planet, above the 'Carrousel de Rennes', 1/8 and f5.6. Not bad (yes I move the camera when pressing down . . .) But still:

Thanks for any help. A question here about filter behavior/image quality with this "character" lens.
Does a UV or skylight 1A filter affect the charming character of this reissue lens. The vignette or color, etc., is it changed even slightly? I have decided to get the heliopause skylight 1A. I know many here do no go with a filter, but I always like to protect the glass, and, the hard , black, plastic bellows on the front seem to be able to be scratched pretty easily. I generally don't baby my gear but I wanted to keep this little guy as good as I can.
thank you,

Mark

I have a 34mm to 37mm adapter. It works as a hood…..

Then that fits a pinch cap +

And also a 37mm UV nano filter from B+W.

I thought it was needed as I can’t clean the front of the lens. However maybe it does indeed change the colours slightly? I have the hunch but no tests done.

Posted (edited)

I haven't used my 28mm Summaron for nearly two years. I recently developed a film that had been in my M-A since 2023. Anyway, here's a couple of snaps off that roll of Portra 400.

Isaac Newton's back garden at Woolsthorpe Manor.

Scout Scar near Kendal. I remember the light that evening was amazing but I failed miserably to record it with either my Leica or iPhone.
