zmcm Posted October 11, 2016 Share #1  Posted October 11, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello guys,  What do you think is better choice: A new Summarit 30/2.5 or an old Summicron 28/2 ASPH ? O really don't know the summarit 30/2.5 just the summicron 28/2 which is a nice lens but to big and block the viewfinder. Summarit  is sharp enough as Summicron? thanks

Michael Geschlecht Posted October 12, 2016 Share #5 Â Posted October 12, 2016 Hello Zmcm, Â Welcome to the Forum. Â Do you mean: 35 mm Summarit F2.5 compared to a 35mm Summicron or possibly a 28mm Summicron? Both of which are F2 lenses. Â Leica does not make a 30mm lens for 35mm photography.Best Regards, Â Michael
Jeff S Posted October 12, 2016 Share #6 Â Posted October 12, 2016 Based on your 'welcome' thread, you mentioned owning the 28 Summicron ASPH (and an M262). Â If the hood blocks too much of the VF, consider using the hood from the 35 Summilux ASPH. Â You can also use the search box above to find more alternatives and discussion. Â Nobody can speak for you in terms of focal length preference. Â But if you like 35mm, there are many good options, including the Summarits (old or new version). earleygallery Posted October 12, 2016 Share #9 Â Posted October 12, 2016 One is wider than the other. I don't think that you can compare them - they are both very good it just depends if you want a 28 or a 35.

Thanks In fact I have the summicron and what I see is a vinetage in low light conditions with Aperture in f2, I dont know if summarit works on the same way! In other hand I know that summarit is the entry level lens but I dont know what are on fact the differences between those 2 lens . Can anyone explain to me?
