dancook Posted August 6, 2019 Share #21 Posted August 6, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I prefer to manually do panoramas, typically hand hold the shots taken vertically and stitch using lightroom.

bullmoon Posted August 8, 2019 Share #25 Posted August 8, 2019 I had no luck - too fast or too slow - nothing like the dead simple iPhone experience. I just did it manually and stitched in Lightroom.

Ian56 Posted January 3, 2022 Share #29 Posted January 3, 2022 Hi, I have successfully captured panorama images with my Q2 but, while most of the series knits together ok, I get lines of mismatch in the image at various points. The number appears to be random although the subject has always been landscapes which I thought would be appropriate. Has anyone else experienced this and if so, is there a way to get around it! Stephen_C Posted January 3, 2022 Share #30 Posted January 3, 2022 It probably at least partly depends on the degree of overlap between the photos that you seek to merge and the software you use for the merge. I suspect, in any event, it's something of a challenge with a 28mm lens—although that's not to say, by any means, that it can't be done satisfactorily. I note Capture One 22 (which introduced a panoramic merge facility) recommends 35mm as the widest angle lens for successful panoramas. (I have no doubt we shall now have a torrent of successful panoramas created with Q2s—but, as I say, I'm not denying it can be done, merely that you have to be rather careful when doing it.) _Michael Posted January 3, 2022 Share #31 Posted January 3, 2022 Some great examples of this mode posted here, but I have to be honest. I didn't even know this mode existed! lol.
mikegml Posted February 18, 2022 Share #32 Posted February 18, 2022 I know this is an old thread but it was linked to me from a reply on a new thread I replied to. I'm a bit baffled by how many people seem to find Panos' difficult. It isn't, it's easy and I'm not some Pano' expert. I do tons of stitched photos with the Q2 and other cameras. I never use any 'pano' mode with any camera. Just overlap your images generously (they're free remember) rotating the camera with the lens being as still as possible. By that I mean imagine a really long nail going through the lens vertically into the ground. I have pano' arms but for 90% of shots outdoors it's not needed. Don't use any burst mode either, just slowly click your shots off one by one as tho' they are individual shots. Stitch together with microsoft ICE (image composite editor) it's free and works great. I have fancy decicated apps but ICE does pretty much everything they do fast. https://1drv.ms/u/s!Aj-hZ7PLSrHbgt1ZzNrK8-6nvAAl4g?e=ysqdGP
Orguy Posted February 19, 2022 Author Share #33 Posted February 19, 2022 I went to Microsoft ice as you suggested. It said ice was retired and no longer available. I used to have a Lightroom subscription but it expired. Is there another free utility out there that can stitch photos for panoramas and also for hdr and focus stacking, if possible? I don’t want yet another subscription.

ICE by the way is way way better than Lightroom at compositing panos, it's a much fuller app. https://1drv.ms/u/s!Aj-hZ7PLSrHbgt1t3668JOM2AQUffw?e=uxmyag Edited February 19, 2022 by mikegml
