Backpack options?

Handsome bag at a decidedly Billingham price.

:) true, can't say it's not worth it. In itself that is: if one doesn't need it that much it's a lot of money. Personally I find a backpack for cameras quite unpractical, but that depends on your purposes

I tried an fstop bag, but like someone else said, it seems different bags for different bodies. I returned it although the person I spoke with on the phone was very reluctant to take it back and they were slow with a refund.

My main bag is a GuraGear Battaflae 18. It rides up high enough to not hit my spine where the herniated disc is! That bag carries all my Nikon gear. I used to carry my M kit in a GuraGear Chobe which can still be used in a pinch for one large body and lens.

I use an old LowePro for the S gear. I can cram everything I need into the GuraGear, but it's tight. If I go to Iceland next year as planned I may have to find yet another bag.

Here are some pictures of the insert with an S007 with 70 attached and 4 additional lens. I must say that at this point it is way too heavy for my liking. I would be more apt to have just 2 lens in addition to the S with lens attached. I have included a shot of that with the additional lens inserted laying down with dividers holding them in place. The last shot is the ICU insert in the actual backpack. With it in the pack, there is additional room at the top for other items, snacks, etc. I have a water bottle carrier that will attach to the waist belt.

Not too late to pick up a Gura Gear 26L Bataflae.....at a nice discount, too....still available despite Tamrac transition.  It also has better gear access than the 18L design.

Bill, appreciate the images. Can you remind me what your ICU size is?

The Gura Gear Bataflae series is really in its own class... They are beautifully designed and well made. The straps are easy to put together and the bag is comfortable to carry. The Tamrac transition has wrought havoc on the line. They changed the outer cover to allow PC transport but this interferes with the brilliantly designed side opening..

Therefore, I suggest you get the older versions, 18, 26 or 32 if still available. Hopefully Tamrac will realize the egregious design flaw and re-introduce the Bataflae..

ONA Camps feels too small for Leica S in my opinion. The lack of any serious padding is also of worry.

Agreed.  I tried the Portage Konera bag, which is identical to the Ona Camps Bay, and found that it is too small for my S system.  I then picked up a Wotancraft Commander on eBay, and found that it presents a perfect mix of style and functionality for my needs.
