If you like this stuff - which I do - you should find Blast Furnaces by Bernd and Hilla Becher. Some people find their work bland and sterile but I have almost almost all of their fascinating books which are amongst the more prized in my book collection.

They have documented industrial architecture primarily of the first half of the 20th century.  They are shot in technically perfect, beautiful, large format, black and white. MY favourite without doubt is Blast Furnaces, closely followed by Water Towers and Mineheads.  Their books are now out of print but good 2nd hand versions are available (such as Abe's Books) typically priced in the hundreds of dollars and up to thousands for limited editions with 'bonus' prints.

Well worth a look if you don't know their work.

Teb, thanks for sharing this photo.  We don't have steel mills here but there is an old railcar repair shop near the edge of town.  All fenced off so I can't get close enough to capture the details.  Your shot makes me want to climb the fence.
