I was out walking in the countryside a couple of days ago and came across some Amanita Muscaria mushrooms. Some people claim they have psychedelic effects but can also make people who eat them violently ill. I left it right where it was.

Thank you all for commenting, and thanks, Iduna, for noticing the blueish tint. That was sloppy processing on my part and it shouldn't have been there. Here's what the mushroom should have looked like.

Hello Stuart,

It is not good to joke about ways of telling if mushrooms are poisonous or not. Some people might take you seriously.

Some varieties of Amanita are among the most poisonous mushrooms on the Planet.

If someone were to make a pot of these & serve them to their friends for lunch there could well be a number of very dead people.

It is important that people remember that any unknown mushroom should be considered to be dangerous until it has been shown to be safe. Especially because, like with snails: Mushrooms that can be safely eaten in 1 region may be highly toxic in another.

For example: There have been a number of instances where refugees fleeing the fighting in the Middle East have eaten toxic mushrooms they found in Europe that were perfectly safe eating mushrooms when gathered in the Countries they came from.

Best Regards,

From your very good friend,

Michael

Brent,

aha, you corrected the WB which makes a wonderful picture now, the enticing yellow...But I really meant the the blue is giving it this fairy tale magic and this is equally good in my opinion.
