Advertisement Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Hi andybarton, Take a look here Dylan Thomas' shed. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
alun Posted August 19, 2016 Share #2 Posted August 19, 2016 The only time I have seen DT's shed, Andy, was in 1971. One had to ask directions. It was barely changed -- not yet a 'visitor attraction' and not really part of any kind of heritage trail. A friend and won a small prize to travel and that's where we went. A friend -- a teacher -- had arranged for us to meet a series of people who had known DT. His death -- the mythology of DT -- already seemed remote, and yet it was barely eighteen years before that he had died. It seemed as if we were uncovering what at that time was a largely forgotten history and I suppose in some respects it was. I remember it all as if it was yesterday. Do you still walk up to a near-by gate and peer into the shed from there? That's how I remember it being. I enjoyed your photograph very much. Louis Posted August 19, 2016 Share #3 Posted August 19, 2016 I very much enjoyed this shot, Andy! I discover DT in drama school with "Under Milkwood" and was impressed with it. One of our teachers who was a big fan of DT used to tell us he was a modern Shakespeare!
stuny Posted August 19, 2016 Share #4 Posted August 19, 2016 Very cool. Barbara is a big fan of DT, so I'll show her this. Lovely, by the way.
