james.liam Posted July 30, 2016 Share #1  Posted July 30, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have heard mention, perhaps apocryphal, that it performs very differently than its silvered and black sisters--why, if true, no one can tell me.  I'm looking to add a faster 35 for my MM v.1--hope to get a color M one day--a Summicron v.1 was returned to the seller because of issues beyond repair . I have no real fast glass and the light limitations of ƒ/2.8 on my Zeiss 35C have become apparent over time. I've considered the VM 1,2/35 and even Canon 35/1.8 and ƒ/2 LTM's but likelier candidates are the the aforementioned Titanium, ZM 1,4/35 and the 35 ASPH FLE. The Zeiss, despite its size seems to exceed anything the FLE can do by a discernible margin and for 1/3 the price.  Thoughts?

jim0266 Posted July 31, 2016 Share #5  Posted July 31, 2016 For $85 plus shipping you can try the Zeiss 35 Distagon for 5 days from Lensrentals. For the amount of money you could spend this seems prudent.  http://https://www.lensrentals.com/rent/leica/lenses/wide-angle/zeiss-zm-35mm-f1.4-distagon-for-leica

IWC Doppel Posted July 31, 2016 Share #7 Â Posted July 31, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I had a 35mm summilux ASPH and loved it, whilst I could measure focus shift it wasn't much and I had it set correctly wide open and never had an issue with focus shift in real world shooting.
