I am looking for a small 21mm lens for my M9, and although there are plenty of choices, there is no perfect one for me. The Zeiss 21/4.5 and Voigtlander 21/4 have the color shift issue, and the other options are bigger than I would like. Right now, my most likely choices are the 21 SEM (though $$$) and the Zeiss 21/2.8 (but kind of large for the travel kit I am building). I would definitely welcome a 21/4 with the sharpness of the Zeiss /4.5, but without its corner issues, even if its size was half way between the 21/4.5 and the 21 SEM. Â Â It could well be that I end up with one, if I find a good deal on a gently used one, but otherwise, there is no way I can justify the cost of a new unit at this point. MarkP Posted June 25, 2016 Share #10  Posted June 25, 2016 I have extensive experience of the ZM 4.5/21 Biogon-C on the M9. Beautiful little lens and I love the bayonet-mount rectangular hood. Compact and light, nice ergonomics, renders beautifully, cheap but it's not up to the SEM. I primarily replaced it because correcting the terrible red-edging in PP was difficult and time-consuming. Even B&W conversions needed work on the edges.  btw it's fine on the Monochrom.  The 3.4/21 SEM really is the way to go.  M9, 4.5/21 Biogon-C  Welcome, dear visitor! I saw a SEM for 1900 €, and nearly went for it. I have seen an ASPH on a local website for 1700 €. For the price, I would rather get a SEM...  MarkP, thanks for the pictures, and information on how it works on the Monochrom and on the M9, very useful. DwF Posted June 25, 2016 Share #14  Posted June 25, 2016 That is useful seeing the color file using the Zeiss 21mm 4.5 -both very nice B&W. It looks as though the OP flew the coup, but here are two recent exposures I made with the 21mm SEM.
