Guest Posted June 7, 2016 Share #1  Posted June 7, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Is there any chance that the official 'Professional charger S' for the S-system will be made available for the SL-system? I know I can buy two or more chargers, but then one needs ever more wall sockets and cables and chargers.  Far more convenient and efficient to have one charger charging simulataneously two batteries at a time! Guest Posted June 7, 2016 Share #3  Posted June 7, 2016 Lets hope lots of other SL owners feel the same way and Leica listens. The 'Professional charger S' is expensive, but so are several of the standard SL chargers.......
douglas fry Posted June 7, 2016 Share #4 Â Posted June 7, 2016 Yes great idea, I have a charger in two locations, but I have two batteries. So the problem arises when I return from a days shoot and need to charge two batteries, and don't wish to set an alarm for 3am. Â Of course I can buy more chargers but for neatness one 2/4 bay charger would be ideal. 2 batteries last one day but only just, so I'll order more anyway
FlashGordonPhotography Posted June 7, 2016 Share #5 Â Posted June 7, 2016 I'd buy a multi-bay in a heart beat. So there's another sale. Â Gordon
ramarren Posted June 7, 2016 Share #6  Posted June 7, 2016 I have three batteries and one charger, which is the setup I've used successfully with many cameras over the years. I only rarely exhaust more than one battery at a time. It means I can have a spare full battery in the bag, a freshly charged battery in the camera, and the third on the charger at home while I go out for a shooting session. That works well for me.  However, it is nice to have a spare charger just in case the one fails, and I usually do. If a 2-bay charger were available, I'd go for one.
Guest VVJ Posted June 7, 2016 Share #7 Â Posted June 7, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I typically also own 3-4 batteries in total and usually end up buying another wall charger that is more convenient to travel with. Â I do see the appeal of an S-like professional charger for the Leica SL and would probably buy one if it becomes available. Â Hopefully we can also have car chargers and charging via USB in the future. Â
Paul925 Posted June 8, 2016 Share #8 Â Posted June 8, 2016 It is somewhat ironic that I have a dual charger for my Q, but I can't buy one for my M or SL. A dual charger should be announced. It would make sense to do so in conjunction with the SL grip please!
Ingo Posted June 8, 2016 Share #9  Posted June 8, 2016 I use two SL bodies (and a Q) in parallel for events & weddings. Each body needs approx. three batteries during the day. That's why I need four batteries for each body (one as a backup) = eight batteries in total. I charge a set of four batteries over night, when I'm back in hotel/at home an the next set in the morning, immediately when I wake up until the next event starts at 9 or 10 a.m.So for me there is definitely a need for a more professional solution than to be busy with so many single-slot chargers. Guest Posted June 8, 2016 Share #10 Â Posted June 8, 2016 I have one or two occasions, when I am photographing literally all day apart from a short lunch break, and after the first battery is used up I am always on tender hooks that the second one will last me, as I am too miserly to buy 2 more batteries whilst only having a single charger. I could buy another single charger but in hotels finding more than one useful charger is sometimes a challenge in itself. So I prefer a dual-charger any day. screwmount Posted June 8, 2016 Share #11 Â Posted June 8, 2016 Just mount as many as you need on a board and do the electric wiring, so you only need one wall socket to plug in.....
