mehtasunil Posted June 4, 2016 Share #1 Posted June 4, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Leica Q is popular among Travel photographers I am surprised that there is no Geotagging feature, hope Leica or some third party introduce this accessory. Most Leica Q owners will buy it. there are Hot shoe mount Geotagging device available for Canon and Nikon, if that is possible for them why not for "Q"? matlep Posted June 4, 2016 Share #2 Posted June 4, 2016 Considering the awful and bad way they tried to implement it in the M series. I guess they better stay away from such attempts. I do think there are third party solutions that might just do the job, and most certainly more reasonable priced than any accessory product from Leica Some solutions might take more work than writing the data directly on the camera, but some solutions are: This one: http://www.geotagphotos.net This: http://www.amazon.com/Holux-RCV-3000-Bluetooth-Logger-Waypoints/dp/B00KLMXYDW Or this: http://www.amazon.com/Bad-Elf-2200-Black-silver/dp/B008VWNBBE
SonomaBear Posted June 4, 2016 Share #3 Posted June 4, 2016 My method is simple, no money spent, in my pocket at all times... my smart phone. I arrive at a scene and I geotag the location with my phone before taking more pictures. IMPORTANT: The clock in the phone must sync to the clock in the Q. Then when back home, I sync EVERYTHING in Lightroom. Set the "Grid" view to "Capture Time" and the phone image will be the first image in a location! Select all images in that scene, and make all EXIF geotags the same. Since none of my cameras have geotagging, this works for the Q and for everyone's Canons. Check the LR documentation for your version. QED
