farnz Posted April 20, 2016 Share #21 Posted April 20, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) The last time I travelled to Istanbul I took a M240 and three 50 mm lenses because I 'see' in 50 mm and they all draw differently (f1 Noctilux, a 1947 Carl Zeiss Jena 50/2 Sonnar, and a Zeiss 50/1.5 ZM Sonnar). I very rarely leave the house with more than one lens and don't use zooms. Different strokes for different folks but in my book it's all about what keeps you happy and enjoying photography and I've long given up worrying about pictures I might have taken if only I'd had a xx lens with me. Michael Hiles Posted April 21, 2016 Share #22 Posted April 21, 2016 I have a bunch of lenses, all of them old-ish. They are all way beyond competent. Other than the 50mm, they don't get much use. My challenge is always deciding on where to point the camera. That's really the only important element.
Abram Posted April 22, 2016 Share #23 Posted April 22, 2016 I work with 4 lenses 28/35/50/90 But I often break them down into two pairs; 28/50 and 35/90 and when I only take one it's 35 or 50 depending on where I'm going. If it's a more cramped space It'll be the 35 if it's more wide open then I'll take the 50.
