DMJ Posted April 10, 2016 Share #1 Â Posted April 10, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello all, Â Can anyone tell me if when Leica added 6-bit coding to this lens in 2012 did they alter the optics in any way for digital camera's as they (claim to) have done for the 28mm f2 & 2.8? Â I was not using Leica then hence asking to 'pick your brains'. Â Thanks, Martin

uhoh7 Posted April 10, 2016 Share #2 Â Posted April 10, 2016 The lens has not been altered optically, is my impression

sarav Posted April 11, 2016 Share #4 Â Posted April 11, 2016 Used one uncoded and bought one coded last year. I didn't see any difference in rendering. Cosmetically they are the same.
MarkP Posted April 11, 2016 Share #5  Posted April 11, 2016 Same lens but it took Leica a while to get raound to 6-bit code it. The coding really doesn't correct much but allows one to know which lens was used.
Herr Barnack Posted April 11, 2016 Share #6  Posted April 11, 2016 According to the tech department at Leica NJ, coding lets the software in the camera address vignetting and passes along data to Lightroom or whatever processing program you are using.
sarav Posted April 11, 2016 Share #7 Â Posted April 11, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) There's no vignetting in APO135. I haven't any picture with it and the most are taken at 3.4....
