Steve Ricoh Posted April 10, 2016 Share #1 Posted April 10, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) As Thorsten has written, it's not only the Leica supplied strap that can cause premature death, or at least a nasty dent to your 'precious', but other straps too. It's nearly happened to me on a couple of occasions in a mere 6 months of ownership. I've switched to an A&A strap that appears to have a better keyring type thing to prevent the strap from becoming detached following the 2nd law of thermodynamics. For those who haven't read the article, here it is: http://www.overgaard.dk/Leica-M-Type-240-aka-Leica-M10-digital-rangefinder-camera-page-34-sexy-stuff-for-the-worlds-most-sexy-camera.html

MarkP Posted April 10, 2016 Share #2 Posted April 10, 2016 whilst on the topic: Freeze the Leica strap and camera so it will take longer to attain a lower state of order and detach (3rd law). Or let the 2nd law apply and let the camera hit the ground. Matter and energy are neither created or destroyed, just converted so you might get better Leica (1st law). Schrödinger's cat Posted April 10, 2016 Share #3 Posted April 10, 2016 Seems like this law may exhibit some application to my belt and ever expanding waistline.

pico Posted April 10, 2016 Share #5 Posted April 10, 2016 Seems like this law may exhibit some application to my belt and ever expanding waistline. Perhaps it is time to modify Leica Binocular Suspenders. Or a Lockdown pouch.
hepcat Posted April 10, 2016 Share #6 Posted April 10, 2016 I suppose it would be indelicate to suggest that one might occasionally just check their equipment? By the way, gravity doesn't have a problem... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgybvlMObmg I was reading Thorsten's article a little further... and he opened up a whole new way of thinking about camera straps for me... Thank you, Thorsten! http://www.overgaard.dk/thorstenovergaardcom_copyrighted_graphics/L1003708-Edit-640w-2.jpg My goodness... I must now retire to contemplate this new realm of thought.... <grin>

Schrödinger's cat Posted April 11, 2016 Share #8 Posted April 11, 2016 I suppose it would be indelicate to suggest that one might occasionally just check their equipment? I used to do that, but my wife said it looked crude
Schrödinger's cat Posted April 11, 2016 Share #9 Posted April 11, 2016 Stop them tripple cheeseburgers and you won't have that problem. I think it's actually the Corona. I could, of course, give up alcohol, but then that would have a negative effect on my rosy view of the world.

JOCO34 Posted April 11, 2016 Share #11 Posted April 11, 2016 One must obey gravity! It's the Law! Despite my wife's look of horror I constantly check my equipment.
