Sorry, Neil, if I spoiled your evening with the US selling prices for the 006.

If you are in CH, still welcome. :)

Georges

No need to be sorry.....just pissed off that a $17000 camera can be only worth 5 to 6k in less that 12 months. Saying that the Leica S006 is a fantastic camera and takes amazing pictures better than anything else that I have owned........

THe pricing is going to make the 006 plummet even more.........I love my S006 :)

I love the S 006 also. The mirrorless aspect is an advantage because slower shutter speeds will be possible without the 2 second delay for mirror lockup. If it is the same sensor as the CFV-50C digital back, the size is 6% larger. IQ should be about the same as the existing digital back. Someone must have done a comparison between that and the S.  All in all, I expect the skill of the photographer will make the difference. It is difficult to imagine that someone would drop the S and switch. No regrets on buying the S.

Leica hopefully has an S in the planning, without a mirror. I should be ready to purchase it in about 5 years ;).

Really? Is it only me don't feel anything about this Hassy offer? For $9000, you can get a S with a lens or two nowdays.

Is it big ViewFinder, super glasses rendering and CCD sensor file, build quality and ergonomics plus the red dot(:)) are the reason we are still with S?

This new Hassy offer none of above. For mirrorless digital back, I will just stitch a few file with Sony if in need. They are dirt cheap now.

Having said that, Once leica have such a MILC S format camera with RED DOT and good price, I will be interested.  Either way, hold your S&Contax645 glasses tight, there are big waves coming.

I think it is a very good price (Pentax level, but with EVF and Hasselblad batch on it and - probably- access to H lenses). This should put more pressure on 007 pricing.

I would buy one as backup body for my S lenses, if there would be a smart adapter. But I guess, Hasselblad is not that generous as Leica was when they created the H-Adapter (or should I say Leica will not allow Hasselblad to make an adapter?)

Looks interesting, I wonder if there will be an adaptor to use other lenses?

Are you suggesting that the "big viewfinder" and "CCD sensor file" aren't really that significant after all – that it's really the lack of a red dot that makes the new Hasselblad camera so uninteresting?

I have shot the H5D-50c, CFV-50c and Leica S006. At 100% there is a resolution difference, naturally. Leica color is better but I didn't use the Hasselblad Phocus software which is supposed to really pop the H color. I have the Leica. I liked the H just fine, but my D810 pretty much covers what I was testing the H for - long exposures. The Leica handles differently than the H, but neither is bad, it just becomes a personal choice. There are things I liked better in the H than the Leica and vice versa. I'd buy the H to replace my Nikon setup, but I just don't need that much gear and there is no way I could shoot surfers and birds with MF.

As to the new H X1D, we'll all know in about thirty minutes :) .
