Bart D Posted August 22, 2017 Share #1022 Posted August 22, 2017 Wow I really like this ! I agree. It's as if it's been made with a Hasselblad or a Monochrome1. Did you use a tripod Bart? Very good B&W conversion Structure, tonal rage, blur and sharpness - just everything fits in this ! Thanks! I didn't use a tripod. 1/3000 at f/2. Suuumm55 Posted August 24, 2017 Share #1036 Posted August 24, 2017 rhododendrons both M9-P & Voigtländer Lanthar 90 i would have thought it was gladioles, but that is not a priority...... both photos are well done in the presentation, but the second photo is much more pleasing to me - here the black / white look is better - the first photo seems to look warmer at first sight, but the lights on the flowers are mine too bright

otto.f Posted August 24, 2017 Share #1038 Posted August 24, 2017 Low light folly : Handheld, not the right camera, not the right lens, not the right film, but somehow it does capture the mood... Forum-Export_500KB-00001.jpg [ IIIf-RD (1953); Elmar 5 cm f/3.5; FP4 ] (Cathédrale Saint Étienne, Metz, France) Are you telling me this is the cathedral that has by a few meters not been run over by the 'autoroute'? schattenundlicht Posted August 24, 2017 Share #1039 Posted August 24, 2017 Are you telling me this is the cathedral that has by a few meters not been run over by the 'autoroute'? Actually, I think that must have been another cathedral. This one is located in the old city centre. The next highway, fortunately, is quite some distance away. But I was there for two days only, so that I would not know much about their city planning history...
Bart D Posted August 24, 2017 Share #1040 Posted August 24, 2017 i would have thought it was gladioles, but that is not a priority...... both photos are well done in the presentation, but the second photo is much more pleasing to me - here the black / white look is better - the first photo seems to look warmer at first sight, but the lights on the flowers are mine too bright The toning applied is warmer in the first one. The light was really strong but is actually coming from behind the flowers, shining through. That was what I liked in the scene
