Thank you lykaman. The formats set by Instagram and Facebook are based on portrait compositions if one doesn't work with their format ratios, the penalty is severe image compression. One needs to work "vertically" or choose sqaure or 4 x 5 or 1:1.9 or in some cases 9x16. One can only set a maximum of 1200 pixels wide for any landscape format resulting 630 x 1200 to escape compression. I take the situation seriously I guess. The image however presented elements which invited the main reason for such a crop. The Human/Environment dynamic is my goal  so the background becomes as important as the subject. Cheers
