While it is a different lens, I really enjoy the old Voigtalander 35mm f/1.7 Ultron LTM. It's aspherical, but not so different so you can use it with modern and classic looking lenses. I think the contrast is less with it than the Skopar. Having read Reid reviews, it seemed to be the best of what I was looking for which is a personal choice. I know of others that hate it - perhaps there is sample variation. It is larger than both the others (Voigtlander), but smaller than the Zeiss.

Got too much focus shift and flare with my CV 35/1.4 SC so i cannot recommend it on a digital camera but the ZM 35/2.8 is excellent on M240, M8.2 & A7s mod if you like contrasty lenses. It is  small also and its apparent quality is similar to that of my best Leica lenses. Only con is vignetting but it is easy to adjust in PP.

I use both the Voigtländer 35/1.4 and the C-Biogon 35/2.8 on the M8. I can recommend both for this camera. The 35/2.8 is ridiculously sharp and produces beautiful contrasty colours. The Voigtländer gives two extra stops at the same size and handles better (personal preference). It's not as sharp and the distortion is significant for a rangefinder 35, but it is anyway optically very good. I use the 35/1.4 much more, as it's simply a more versatile lens.
