adapter M - SL choice

The advantage of the Leica "M Adapter T(L)" is the electronic interface that gives you access to the six-bit code system and lens codes for Leica lenses, which provide EXIF data for focal length and maximum aperture as well as additional image processing to help optimize results. Even if you don't use Leica M-mount lenses, you can often find lens codes which help improve lens performance.

(The M Adapter T also allows you to use the "R Adapter M" for access to the lens codes for Leica R lenses, if you should be so inclined. The R Adapter M includes a sturdy, removable tripod mount as well to balance the camera and heavier R lenses better when used on a tripod.)

If this is unimportant for your use, then the adapter I'd buy is the Novoflex LET/LEM. This is simply a dumb adapter with no electronics, very well/precisely made, and about half the price. I don't trust the quality/consistency of cheaper alternatives.

The stacked Leica adapters are for the R lenses to SL camera.  You have to use Leica M to T with Leica R to M.  For the Leica M lenses on the SL camera, you need only one adapter the Leica M to T.  I bought the Leica version and don't regret it.  It works perfectly.

I just got a SL and i need the adapter from M mount.

Ihave seen also on ebay some adapters also coming from china, are trustable? or an advice on a good quality adapter?thanx to all

If you just spent 7000$ or so on a camera and are going to mount lenses costing up to 10.000 $ on it, are you going to skimp a few $$, or even a few hundred $$ on the piece connecting the two?

Chinese/eBay/No-Name adapters are generally worth what you pay for them - very little. The old motto applies: "Buy cheap, buy twice." I have bought such adapters a number of times when the proper item was not available e.g. the R to M adapter from Leica. They sit unused in a drawer. Often the radial alignment is not correct with the top of the lens not at the top and usually there is an unacceptable amount of slop. For the SL, I think buying a genuine M to T/SL adapter, due to its being an active adapter is an essential. The adapters Novoflex make are beautifully made but are dumb with no electrical connections. I can understand that folks don't like stacking adapters and for that reason might consider a Novoflex R to T/SL, as the Leica one is still not available. The hope is that the Leica one might at least transmit the information from ROM R lenses and there is an outside (improbable) chance that it might do an active aperture as well but it will activate the R lens menu on the SL, which the Novoflex adapter does not.
