Be careful Fraswa.  Look for any haze, fungus, or tartar.  Also, check for any cleaning or brushing marks on the enamel.  Further, you may need to floss, or gloss as the case may be, over the surface to ensure that the coating is intact.  Finally, I suggest to use Listerine to clean this lens -- it is 23% alcohol.   Enjoy in good health.

Has to be a Tessar-type design

 

Actually, the Tessar design is a four element design.  The most famous 3 elements design is Cooke's triplet.  However, given that this lens obviously is the result of a bioengineering project, it is safe to surmise that the organism lost an element at some point in its evolution (since its ancestors all had bilateral symmetry) and then adapted to get the most out of the remaining 3 elements.  One more argument confirming the "Theory of evolution" by natural selection and one more nail in the coffin of "Intelligent design".
