Thanks for the advice. I think I'm going to go for it. The CLA isn't that pricey and I'm thinking about getting the MP upgrade with coated windows,

although I think with clean windows I'll be happy. Big surprise. I tested focus with some other lenses other than the 50 v.3, which didn't focus to infinity.

Upon careful observation, I came to realize that the 50 v.3 is the culprit. All my other lenses focus at infinity with no problems. I'd just never noticed it up 

to this point.
