Snowman Posted January 12, 2016 Share #1 Posted January 12, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, I ordered my new Q from a Leica dealer here in the UK last month. They said it will be around feb/march time for delivery. Eager to get my hands on this special camera, I'm wondering why there are back orders/waiting lists for this camera, when compared with the new SL which seems to be next day delivery. I assume its because of demand/Lecia hand building production times? Any ideas, Nick
Advertisement Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Hi Snowman, Take a look here Leica Q Delivery Times?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
matlep Posted January 12, 2016 Share #2 Posted January 12, 2016 Find another dealer. The Q should be easy to find on the shelf att reputed dealers. Or maybe not... Had a quick look at some sites and it seems to be backordered. That is strange, here in Sweden it is available today,

matlep Posted January 12, 2016 Share #4 Posted January 12, 2016 All the of Leica main dealers in the UK are pre-order, have checked. Yeah, I find that strange. But you know something is a hit when it is still on backorder 7 months after it´s release. Good luck on getting the camera. I hope you find one soon. squaxor Posted January 27, 2016 Share #7 Posted January 27, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I don't know if it helps, but I ordered my Leica Q from Red dot cameras on the 19th Jan. They estimate they might have one 'as early as late February'. They have six six people on the waiting list. The official london leica dealers are also sold out as is park cameras. Ebay nationally and internationally is also bereft of Qs. patience is a virtue.
microview Posted January 27, 2016 Share #8 Posted January 27, 2016 All the of Leica main dealers in the UK are pre-order, have checked. It looks as if (in the UK) Dale + Wilkinsons have a Q in stock today.
m9photo Posted January 27, 2016 Share #9 Posted January 27, 2016 Amazing that they still haven't up to par the production with the demand of this camera.

squaxor Posted January 28, 2016 Share #11 Posted January 28, 2016 It looks as if (in the UK) Dale + Wilkinsons have a Q in stock today. I just called them (28 Jan 2016) on their main number and Stockport branch. They don't have any in stock. Their computer shows it in stock, but when they checked it was on back order. Their guy, Jo, will call me with an estimate.
colonel Posted January 28, 2016 Share #12 Posted January 28, 2016 Try some left of field as well, such as Harrods and Selfridges. I get particularly good service on Leica sales from Harrods

colonel Posted January 28, 2016 Share #14 Posted January 28, 2016 Have never tried Harrods website before; but not a mention of Leica cameras when searching. Ah, you have to go into store. They only really sell a fraction of their fashion and home stuff on the website .....
Belle123 Posted January 28, 2016 Share #15 Posted January 28, 2016 I just ordered one this week. Will report when get mine. Seems they come in waves!
thighslapper Posted January 28, 2016 Share #16 Posted January 28, 2016 I just ordered one this week. Will report when get mine. Seems they come in waves! correct ..... Leica tends to 'batch' produce and rotate production ..... they are not big enough to have every product in continuous construction/assembly.
wattsy Posted January 28, 2016 Share #17 Posted January 28, 2016 patience is a virtue. Worth trying some of the more obscure dealers. For example, Bass and Bligh in Harrogate are showing that they have the Q in stock.
colonel Posted January 29, 2016 Share #18 Posted January 29, 2016 I was also going to suggest German dealers and other European dealers who are reliable but you do miss out on the passport which is UK official only. Try: Stephens Manchester Leica shop Mayfair Leica shop Royal exchange (sometimes different stock) Reddot Richard Caplan Harrods Selfridges London camera exchange Ace cameras Wilkinson Dalephotographic I have bought from all these guys - sad I know
squaxor Posted January 29, 2016 Share #19 Posted January 29, 2016 Wilkins just called to say they have two Leica Q's in stock. http://www.wilkinson.co.uk/leica-q-typ-116.html It's killing me as I've already paid a deposit with Red Dot so I have to wait until mine becomes available.
