thekidza Posted January 12, 2016 Share #1 Posted January 12, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Last week i dropped my leica Q, and it has some scratch some lens hood. But i noticed that my aperture blades are not symmetric. (Donno before or After dropped). Will this issue cause any problem to my Leica Q ? Welcome, dear visitor! lucerne Posted January 15, 2016 Share #4 Posted January 15, 2016 Kidza I can't make my Q blades close in that unusual shape. Yours displays asymmetry. I've examined (wearing a magnifier), the shape made by my blades at every aperture setting and on each setting, my blades are evenly positioned. Whatever the problem, it could get worse so I wouldn't accept their explanation. However, before raising the issue with Leica again, I would examine the aperture blade pattern at every aperture setting.

I already examined all aperture setting and i can said that asymmetric aperture were show at every aperture size. Hard to noticed when Aperture become larger, so i uploaded only small one. Even Leica said that "asymmetric circular aperture blade is normal for Leica Q" , I still worried about long term issues. Welcome, dear visitor! earleygallery Posted January 16, 2016 Share #7 Posted January 16, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) It's quite usual for lenses to work like this but if the OP has a doubt I'd suggest they visit a dealer and compare with another Q - unless others here can post images of their Q lens stopped down. The key thing I guess is, does the camera operate correctly?
thekidza Posted January 17, 2016 Author Share #8 Posted January 17, 2016 No problem with my Q operation. It's work fine. This should effect to Bokeh of this Lens, due to asymmetric aperture ? (still depend on light condition, so i'm not sure)
