Anyone use this combo and have any experiences on how well it works or if another lens would be better aside from (35 lux FLE, 50mm APO, Noct)

How well does the 50mm 2.5 summarit work on the type 246?

The Summarits are excellent lenses in every way except speed, no matter what camera you use them on,

No experience with M246 but the 50/2.5 does very well on the M240. One caveat though: It can flare very badly in special circumstances (typically when the sun is at 10 o'clock outside the frame) without a good hood on it.

Going to have to agree with "lct" here - i dont have a monochrom, but do have the M240, and it has been excellent (i did notice it went a little soft* after a year, but that was the RF being slightly out, not the lens, now it is recalibrated, the lens is back to being excellent)

I havent had any issues with the 50 Summarit flaring, but i have had a hood on it (around $6 delivered from ebay) for most of the time i have owned it.

Will post a few sample pics (on the M240, including a few B+W conversions) later on, when i get a chance to fire the computer up

* compared to how it was before, still equal or better than my Canon L zooms

Wise precaution. Here at f/2.5 with and w/o hood. Sun at 10 o'clock outside the top left corner of the frame.

I actually have had it flare like that once, before i had the hood, i used live view and moved around till i got some flare - only time it has ever happened.

The hood is only there to protect the front element from fingers and stuff.

heres some example images (processed in lightroom, with sharpening etc applied - not straight out of camera)
