Iduna Posted December 29, 2015 Share #2 Posted December 29, 2015 Louis, yes, a very subtle focus and a very shallow DOF. It is always difficult with this type of pictures. I am just thinking how it would look like if the focus was a bit further up on the centre of the leaf and those wires being blurred? The bokeh and colour is lovely. Louis Posted December 29, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted December 29, 2015 Thank you very much, Iduna and Stuart. Iduna, I wish it was possible to do what you are suggesting, but as my lens was wide open and the distance of the leave with the camera was the same as with the fence; it was impossible to blur the fence. The only way of blurring everything except the leave is, I think, how I was doing long time ago during my film era; using Vaseline on a filter to blur different parts of the frame! fotografr Posted December 29, 2015 Share #5 Posted December 29, 2015 This just proves there is beauty everywhere if one looks for it.
Iduna Posted December 30, 2015 Share #6 Posted December 30, 2015 Thank you very much, Iduna and Stuart. Yes, Louis, one has to grapple with those situations - Yesterday I did a shot through the loops of a fence and had the problem the other way round. It is always good to notice the limits of options...Keep going!.

allamande Posted December 30, 2015 Share #9 Posted December 30, 2015 This is pure poetry. It works to full effect BECAUSE the fence is in focus. IMO. Ece

I do agree with you; I took this shot because of the fence, as the title indicate! Happy New Year, very dear,
robert blu Posted January 1, 2016 Share #11 Posted January 1, 2016 This is for sure a good photo, the contrast between nature and man-made is strong and works well. But I what I like more are the colors, here again the warm color of the leaf against the cold background...well done, a good beginning of the year :-) robert
