sidhorn Posted December 14, 2015 Share #1 Â Posted December 14, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've gone 3-weeks witout a camera freeze. I must say it's very disconcerting when you think that your out of the woods. Then bam. I actually wouldn't mind if I could just un-freeze by turning the camera off. Had to pop the battery twice. Must remove half case. A royal pain. Are there any other forum members still experiencing freezes. Going to call leica tomorrow. I pretty much use my T with a 35mm 1.4 M lens. I still enjoy the camera but it's very frurstrating to say the least when a freeze occurs. My iPhone never feezes nor does my Mac Book Pro. Grrrrrrr. jdlaing Posted December 14, 2015 Share #4 Â Posted December 14, 2015 1. When it's mounted is there any play between it and the body or between it and the lens? 2. Do you use the Visoflex and when mounted is it snug or does it wiggle slightly?
sidhorn Posted December 14, 2015 Author Share #5 Â Posted December 14, 2015 No play between body and lens. I do use the Visoflex and it seems to be a snug fit. In fact, I almost never take Visoflex off for just that reason. It's a mystery. At least it doesn't happen often.

Those are the only things I have heard from a couple other users that they think caused a freeze. Sounds like some help from Leica is in order. I have only had one freeze since I got mine and it was from shooting too fast and overloading it's brain..........I suspect.
rijve044 Posted December 14, 2015 Share #7  Posted December 14, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Those are the only things I have heard from a couple other users that they think caused a freeze. Sounds like some help from Leica is in order. I have only had one freeze since I got mine and it was from shooting too fast and overloading it's brain..........I suspect. I had regular freezing beginning this year, measured the base of the EVF which is 18.5 mm while the hotshoe in the camera is 18.8mm, so it wiggles slightly. The contacts have only 2mm distance from each other but the contact pins in the hotshoe are very small so not sure if contact is secured under all circumstances. The base of the EVF is also very thin, could be thicker (fragile) I would prefer a tighter fit. I informed a marketing man at Leica about this but heard nothing. Although I must say I had no freezing since the latest firmware.
HankPhoto Posted December 15, 2015 Share #8 Â Posted December 15, 2015 I have had three or four freezes in the last two weeks. Â I did recently add a new Visoflex to my T. Â Given the discussions on this forum, I am going to see if maybe my Visoflex has slid out a bit and that is what is causing the problem.
Guest Posted December 15, 2015 Share #9 Â Posted December 15, 2015 I have a Visoflex but no M-Adaptor. In the very beginning I had several freezes before I received the Visoflex. Freezing for me went away with the first firmware update. Whenever I fit the Visoflex, I have not yet had a freeze.
Don Morley Posted December 19, 2015 Share #10 Â Posted December 19, 2015 My camera quite often freezes if I leave it switched on for any length of time regardless of what lens is fitted or if I am using the EVF or not, and only clears if I momentarily take the battery out, and when I do the battery will always be very hot. Its a needless nuisance. Don
gbealnz Posted December 19, 2015 Share #11 Â Posted December 19, 2015 Well, I'd say it's more than a nuisance Don. I'd say it's faulty, and should be rectified by Leica. Gary
LexS Posted December 20, 2015 Share #12 Â Posted December 20, 2015 ""Are there any other forum members still experiencing freezes. Going to call Leica tomorrow."" Yes, I have the same issue once in awhile. I have to remove the battery (I have the halfcase too, brrrr), to restart. Just a Leica T with the 23mm and the kit zoom. No adapters. It happened since FW update 1.2, I now have 1.4 (very big step forward), it still happens. Lex
Guest Posted December 21, 2015 Share #13 Â Posted December 21, 2015 Mine occasionally freezes too. Â Seems to happen when I am taking lots of shots, like at an event. Â (It kind of feels like maybe it is fragmenting its internal memory and doesn't release it or something like that). Â I also have the half case, although now I *never* use it because it's such a PIA to pull the battery when the camera does freeze. Â Thank goodness it doesn't happen too often - but it shouldn't be happening at all. Â (iPhone cameras never freeze do they????) Â I still am quite enamored by the T and I am an eternal optimist that Leica will bring forth another magical firmware update to remedy these niggles... Â Have a merry everyone! Â Cheers! Guest Posted December 21, 2015 Share #15 Â Posted December 21, 2015 It's not necessarily rapid succession for me. Â Seems to be when I take lots of shots, some of them maybe in rapid succession, but without turning the camera off in between. Â Now that firmware 1.43 has faster startup times, I turn the camera off in between shots more often.
A B Posted December 21, 2015 Share #16 Â Posted December 21, 2015 I've never had a camera freeze that requires pulling out the battery, but sometimes the LCD becomes not responsive to touch and turning off and on again the camera fixes the issue. I have the Visoflex always attached but I generally don't take many pictures in rapid succession.
Yuhau Posted December 22, 2015 Share #17  Posted December 22, 2015 Mine freezes less ( with the 1.43 firmware ) now but still on occasion . That is T with ,11-23 , stock  Leica  M to T adaptor  and the Visoflex. Also the Visoflex view  is  darker than the Pic taken at least by 1 EV .  This is my  second T ( a replacement from a faulty one )

Yuhau Posted December 22, 2015 Share #19  Posted December 22, 2015 Have you tried adjusting the brightness of the Visoflex?   I did, but the brightness on the viewfinder changes only a bit but not enough to achieve  WISWIG  " what you see is what you get" , as my  Fuji X-E2  and  Sony A7 which I am used to .  Wonder what did I do wrong ? or is just the characteristics of the camera ?
jdlaing Posted December 23, 2015 Share #20 Â Posted December 23, 2015 My Visoflex range of brightness seems pretty long. Mine is pretty darn close to the output on the LCD screen.
