Slender Posted September 30, 2020 Share #23 Â Posted September 30, 2020 It is very strange that most of those dust account stories seems to have the problem located at the 9 o-clock position. I couldn't help but exclain an "ooooh" when I saw this last image. Mine is locate about the same place, but thankfully much smaller spec. (i have a small specs of something too in my SL2 EVF.... I let Leica know but all they offer for now is sending the camera in Germany with an SL601 loan in the waiting... I'd rather wait next summer - and avoid potential covid/lockdowns#2 delays - to do it)
Ktsa5239 Posted October 13, 2020 Share #24 Â Posted October 13, 2020 I've just picked up a great deal in store for a displayed SL2 last week, didnt even think to check until I read this thread ! Long and behold there it is a speck of dust in the evf, actually looks like a dead pixel only evident when looking at a white wall so its pretty small. Doesnt affect the photo so its definitely in the evf not on the sensor. Its located on the right of the bottom centre square when the lines of thirds are present. Now its being posted back to leica in Melbourne. God know how long it would take if it needs to be sent back to Germany to get fixed. This is so upsetting. aksclix Posted October 13, 2020 Share #25  Posted October 13, 2020 (edited) @Ktsa5239 are you able to return it or exchange it? If so, you should take that option..  I first bought a used one which had the dust then bought a new one which had an even bigger mark on the evf.. the third one in my hand seems good.. can’t say I am not nervous about the evf ditching me in the future.. at least I’ll have the 2 year warranty.. used ones don’t have the same warranty I guess or do they?
