The new Firmware 2.0 for the Leica S 007 is out.

The following has been done:

  • _  Improved auto focus performance especially in poor lighting environments

  • _  Improved white balance setting Color Temperature
(better skin tone reproduction when working with flash equipment)

  •

- Long press on the rear click wheel in Auto Review had no function.
- Now a long press on the rear click wheel in Auto Review leads to 100% zoom (short cut)

- Sometimes a wrong exposure occurs after changing the lens.

- Wrong focus position after lens initialization (e.g. after stand-by) is fixed.

- Selftimer mode was not combined with Mirror Up.

- WLAN setting, AutoISO and exposure compensation is now saved correctly in the User Profiles

- Leica Cable Release S (Order No. 16029) is fully supported now If GPS is off, no GPS data is stored in the image files now

I will try to do another post here soon regarding red and blue dots in the shadows at some exposures. It seems that this problem hasn't been addressed in the current firmware update.

Also, finally, Lightroom 6.3. is out and it should be possible to use all the profiles for the 007. (6.2.2 seemed to crash all the time, I had never used it, stayed on 6.0 till yesterday). I haven't yet checked it out very carefully.

One step at a time, slowly, this camera becomes usable.

Jorma.

I updated mine along with the lenses this morning and all works fine. I'm also experiencing issues in shadows with hot pixels and I may have to return the camera to get it sorted out, I have a lot of work on though so it's hard to find the time to send it off, might just jump on a plane instead.

Since I am a new S user as of this Wednesday, I have no experience with past issues but after updating the firmware, everything works and I have taken about 30 test shots. I am still working through learning the system and its functions. Fun Fun Fun :D

The long press on the rear dial to give a 100% zoom  view is much appreciated. I had been spinning the top dial to achieve the same thing and it took longer.

I have also set my back screen photo review time to "off" as other suggested which helps keep me from forgetting the dial needs to switch from zoom playback to shutter timing adjustment.

Updated firmware this morning.  AF subjectively now feels both faster (marginally, but noticeably) and more accurate (less hunting/better at locking focus).
