How to upload images: Prepare the image as follows: 1.   The image should be sRGB and 8-bits 2.   Reduce the size to 2048 pixels on the longest side. (smaller sizes can be set, but are not recommended) 3.   Sharpen properly for screen. 4.   Save as JPG to your desktop, reducing JPG quality to produce 2000 kB (5000 kB for sponsoring members). 5.   In Lightroom these parameters should be set in the Export dialog. 6.   In the Forum posting or editing box, click “choose Fil

The Kestrels are back in our village church ..... later than last year as a family of jackdaws are in the belfry above and kept mobbing the poor kestrels below ..... so  they had to wait till the unruly neighbours vacated the flat above before they could lay their eggs.  

 

They have 4 chicks, although the smallest has been evicted (yesterday apparently) and was disconsolately hopping around my tripod squawking for food ..... unfortunately the cats or foxes will get it even if the parents feed it ...... but that's natures way I'm afraid.  :(

 

Used Leica R 280/2.8 with stacked 1.4x and 2x adapters making 800mm ....... still issues with camera shake even with a RRS full size tripod/ballhead and remote ...... which I originally thought was mostly down to springy turf and failure to bring something to weight it down..... but changing to electronic shutter dramatically improved the images ....  :)

 

Unfortunately failed to have the shutter on high speed multi shot so missed the parents arriving with food ..... will try again tomorrow evening. Might try and catch some mice for the orphan .....
