No problem at all - when shooting from a sturdy tripod, that is ;)... In this case at 1/100 s and with the electronic shutter activated.

The focus mechanism of the APO-Telyt-R 400mm f2.8 (this is the rigid version, but the same holds for the modular system) is simply  f a n t a s t i c . With a high-quality EVF as on the SL, you can nail the focus with high precision in the field; to within +/-1 cm (likely less), I would guess. I actually think that these old APO-Telyts - the copy I have was made in 1991 - are as made for present-day, high-quality EVF and electronic shutter systems... But yes, bulky and heavy it is.

Yes saw some of them already here in northern Germany. But unfortunately i have not such an impressive lens...
