........ I have LR and Photoshop fix apps but neither will resize to forum sizes ...... and no apps do bicubic or better reduction and allow you to control size and jpg quality. They all use some crappy form of shrinkage that produces really rubbish unsharp images. I'm on my 8th app (free or at minimal cost) and none so far do what I want ...... which is essentially very simple. ☹️

Have you looked at Iridient Developer? It's the one I use and if I understand things correctly it has a choice of many scaling methods for outputting jpegs (Apple HQ Lanczos5, Apple Lanczos3, Blackman8, Lanczos5, Blackman4, Lanczos3, Ginseng, Lanczos2, Mitchell, Quadratic -- take your pick). You also have the choice of resolution and quality.

A demo version can be downloaded for free so you can try it out before buying. The price is now 25% off if purchased before the end of the year.

Taken by SL + VE 24mm-90mm @ 50mm f8, 0.8s handheld

of the overly popular shot of Golden Pavilion of Kinkaku-Ji Temple in Kyoto, Japan.

However the Leica SL sensor and lens gives it a rich depth of view not commonly produced by other DSLR + other brand lenses.

I may have to concede that I'm having a better focus hit rate on the SL I am renting than I have lately on my M.. after 15 years of M shooting.

I have another week to put it (and myself) through it's paces..

Amongst many other lovely features, don't overlook the low native ISO and 1/16,000 shutter speed that finally helps you avoid ND filters while shooting fast lenses wide open in broad daylight

I need something I can use on an iPad whilst on hols etc. I'd prefer a €2.99 app than investing €1500+ on a MacBook ......

Gdansk Oliwa, yesterday, 24-90 .....

Apologies .......resizing this on my iPad doesn't work properly ....... and just seems to produce a degraded image that is stretched to the original iPad size ............ useless heap of cr*p....

Lovely photo!

PhotoRAW does an excellent job of raw conversion. It works most efficiently on the iPad Pro models, but I've used it on the iPad 2 and iPad mini 3 as well. It's part of my standard M-D workflow for iOS now.

SnapSeed remains my standard for doing minor adjustments and borders with JPEG files. Easy to learn, easy to use, lots of capability.

Photos can do some decent adjustments but is a bit less user friendly.

Photogene is the best app for doing metadata editing and explicit export sizing to different dimensions on iOS, that I've found anyway. It also has a very good editor with curves, etc. I'm not fond of its borders and effects.

Thanks ...... but Photogene⁴ uses the same cr*ppy resize algorithm as all the others resulting in an image that isn't as sharp as the original ..... I have had to resharpen the reduced image and even then it bears no resemblance to the output from the full version of LR on my home computer that I normally post.....

Gdansk Oliwa again ......resorted to taking an iPad screenshot of the photo and then cropping and uploaded that instead ...... better than the various (cr)apps I have downloaded.

I consider what I produce on the iPad as being it's own thing and don't compare it with what I produce in LR on macOS. Photogene seems to do okay for sizing from SL or M-D down to my usual about 1200 pixels on the long edge, and I tweak the output to optimize it. If it's a really important frame, I sometimes reprocess it in LR and create an even better rendering, but most of the time what I finish with is simply done ... I move full rez and reduced size into my archive for cataloging, that's all.

Works for me. The iPad is my travel machine, and if it's not identical to my full blown image processing system, well, I don't have to lug the latter about. :-)
