sunhmt Posted November 2, 2015 Share #1 Posted November 2, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have bought a Leica R 80mm lens. But in the M240 setting menu I only can find M lens(like 75mm and 90mm) That's no 80mm in the list. How can I let the camera recognize the 80mm lens? Thanks:)
Advertisement Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Hi sunhmt, Take a look here How to let Leica M recognize the R lens?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pop Posted November 3, 2015 Share #2 Posted November 3, 2015 The Leica M and the Leica R series are quite different cameras, each with its own set of lenses. The Leica M only recognizes lenses that are built for M type cameras. You need an adapter in order to mount and use a lens made for the R series on an M. There are adapters made by Leica and adapters made by third parties. When mounting the adapter made by Leica on the M, the M will display a list of R lenses and you can pick your lens from that list. When mounting an adapter made by a third party, there will be no such list and you won't be able to tell your M what lens you are mounting, I believe. The lens will work anyway, the only difference being that you won't see in the EXIF data what lens you used for a photograph taken with that lens. jaapv Posted November 3, 2015 Share #3 Posted November 3, 2015 Actually the Novoflex adapter is coded to be recognized.
FlashGordonPhotography Posted November 3, 2015 Share #4 Posted November 3, 2015 To get the R lens menu you need a coded adaptor. Make sure the adaptor you have bought is coded properly and is being read by the camera. Gordon
