Millie Posted July 9, 2018 Share #45 Posted July 9, 2018 amoebahydra Posted 07 June 2017 - 21:15 With the Novoflex SL/EOS adapter, I can also use Schneider PC-TS lenses on my SL Type 601 body ......... Good evening everyone, Thank you for supplying this above information amoebahydra. I am seriously thinking of purchasing a Schneider PC-TS 28 mm lens to attach to the SL Leica mirrorless camera: https://www.schneideroptics.com/ecommerce/CatalogSubCategoryDisplay.aspx?CID=1822 I am enquiring as to how I can attach and use a Schneider-Kreuznach 28/4.5 PC-TS Super-Angulon lens on the Leica SL mirrorless system camera. Is this adapter available for purchase from Leica, or Schneider? I am not familiar with this adapter and will do a search of it in the web to try and learn about it.Could you please supply more details of the adapter and explain whether it is complicated to attach and use the Schneider PC-TC lens on the Leica SL camera body?I assume the Schneider PC-TS 28 mm lens could only be manually (not automatic focus) adjusted when used on the Leica SL camera. Would I be able to accurately view the Schneider PC-TS lens adjustments, including aperture and distance settings, in the electronic viewfinder of the SL camera? Also, do the Schneider instructions for using their longer PC-TS lenses also apply to using the 28 mm PC-TS lens?Does anyone know of a distributor, or retailer in Australia who can import this Schneider PC-TS 28 mm lens, and an adapter, without taking two months to arrive here?Thanking you in advance. lx1713 Posted July 9, 2018 Share #46 Posted July 9, 2018 No idea. On the S camera, the equivalent field of view in 35mm terms (applying the 1.25 crop factor) would be 96mm. That seems very tight to me. I always thought T&S lenses were supposed to be reasonably wide. The Canon TSE is 17mm f/4. On the SL, the lens would have a 120mm field of view, with does seem strange ... As mentioned by a few others, it would be useful for macro work. The limitations for the 120 is, because of the narrow depth of field, difficulty in getting sufficient depth of sharpness of the subject even with the tilt capabilities. For simple planar corrections, this lens will take a bit of time to hit and miss your way to perfection. A Sinar monorail will take the guessing out of the whole process. Designed that way. It's way larger though so it's usually in the studio.
