hoppyman Posted December 29, 2015 Share #441 Posted December 29, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'd deferred posting cityscapes and urban landscapes, I certainly have plenty. Perhaps we should have another thread for Australian city & urban? Some photos taken within the cities still qualify as landscapes (i.e., primarily natural rather than man-made environment) Any opinions? I have some cityscapes to share if that thread gets started.
Advertisement Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Hi hoppyman, Take a look here Australian Landscapes - Open Thread. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
david strachan Posted December 29, 2015 Share #442 Posted December 29, 2015 Yes, it could run away as too many cityscapes. But...maybe try it "Openscapes" for a while. cheers Dave S

'Scares Country and/or Urban?.....my two cents worth....they would all fit in comfortably here and help to keep this thread turning over nicely. Go for it you city blokes! MarkP Posted December 30, 2015 Author Share #444 Posted December 30, 2015 (edited) Dee, I personally I think that we should separate them to primarily natural environment vs man-made environment but not more than two 'Australiana' threads. I agree calling it 'Cityscapes' may then limit the suburbs, beaches, towns, etc. Sorry David but opens capes doesn't ring Australian Cities & Towns - Open Thread or Australian Urban & Suburban - Open Thread or any other ideas? If it goes ahead maybe a kind Australian Mod such as Erl ;-) could move the urban/suburban photos in this thread (and their relevant comment posts) over to the new thread. platypus Posted December 30, 2015 Share #445 Posted December 30, 2015 Mark, Perhaps "Australian Cities and Towns" would best cover it. That would allow for the inclusion of images of very small rural townships, those that are neither Urban nor Sub., but would still like to be in it.

Nick Bedford Posted December 31, 2015 Share #450 Posted December 31, 2015 (edited) I did a road trip around Tasmania in September and made a bunch of photos. All shot on M 240 with Summarit 35mm. These all use the VSCO Fujicolor 800Z profile. Edited December 31, 2015 by nickjbedford
MarkP Posted December 31, 2015 Author Share #451 Posted December 31, 2015 Hi Nick, welcome to the thread. These are exquisite, especially #4, although #s 1& 5 are very impressive. The VSCO Fujicolor 800Z profile is lovely. I will have to try it. Regards, Mark
Nick Bedford Posted January 1, 2016 Share #452 Posted January 1, 2016 Thanks Mark! Yeah I used to use their Kodak Portra 400 profile but switched to the Fuji 800Z a while ago as I liked the tones and colour a bit more. I've tweaked the present to reduce the quite noticeable grain setting but it's still there to add the dithering. Hi Nick, welcome to the thread. These are exquisite, especially #4, although #s 1& 5 are very impressive. The VSCO Fujicolor 800Z profile is lovely. I will have to try it. Guest )-( Posted January 4, 2016 Share #458 Posted January 4, 2016 This one is Burrows Park in Clovelly, Sydney - I hope posted in the right place, I shoot a lot of these - no City in shot - seascapes around Sydney, seemed most in keeping with this thread M9, 50 Lux ASPH
MarkP Posted January 4, 2016 Author Share #459 Posted January 4, 2016 (edited) Perfect, and welcome to the thread. Although in the city I think this is fine here. I live near Clovelly and have posted numerous photographs from there on a number of occasions (just search Clovelly). I've a number of photos taken from where you were standing but without the rainbow! Keep posting. Iduna Posted January 4, 2016 Share #460 Posted January 4, 2016 Monaro fence line - summer. MM/APO 50 Dee, your fenceline-picture and the following recent posts are all excellent. I specially like the toning which is adding to the impression of depth. The compositions are as always very carefully set.
