Iduna Posted November 27, 2015 Share #322 Posted November 27, 2015 Mark, wow, this is what photography is about: light par excellence. I like the toning and These multifold shades, ther eis even texture in the highlights. Well done!
Iduna Posted November 27, 2015 Share #323 Posted November 27, 2015 Summer storm over the valley of the Maclaughlin river, southern Monaro, NSW. M9/Noctilux 0.95 Dee, what a fantastic Image! The sky is very dramatic and the sheep merge into the landscape perched under that wide threatening sky.
Iduna Posted November 27, 2015 Share #324 Posted November 27, 2015 Monaro High Plains: Nissen hut and (bush fire) smoke haze. M Monochrom/APO 50 Dee, ooh, another artistic Vision. These lines work in their planned simplicity. The smoke caused by fire is eerie.
Iduna Posted November 27, 2015 Share #325 Posted November 27, 2015 Moonset at Ando, NSW. Christmas Eve, 2013. M Monochrom/APO 50 Dee, very subtle. This shot reminds me of the "Ansel Adams" - feel of magic

Les_Sismore Posted December 2, 2015 Share #333 Posted December 2, 2015 (edited) Shannonvale There's not much there now - it is a hidden valley known only by a name on the map and an official Australian postcode. Latitude -36.931 and longitude 147.423, which puts it just to the east of the Bogong High Plains in Victoria. 35/2 ASPH, Fuji Reala, KR1.5 Edited December 2, 2015 by Les_Sismore
MarkP Posted December 2, 2015 Author Share #334 Posted December 2, 2015 (edited) Shannonvale 35/2 ASPH, Fuji Reala, KR1.5 Great layering of scenery and colour. ps thanks for the pm and post update regarding the location. I'd never heard of Shanonvale - Google Maps put it in Northern Queensland which is not where this scenery looks like it would be found. Victoria makes much more sense :-) Edited December 2, 2015 by MarkP

david strachan Posted December 2, 2015 Share #336 Posted December 2, 2015 Les, nice picture...interesting. Those Snow Gums (?) don't recover like other fire ravaged eucalyptus. Mark, Palm Beach and not a palm in sight! But always plenty of Norfolk Island Pines along the east coast...wherever there is a port. Had my yacht on a mooring there for many years, and used to get my sea fix living aboard for a few days every month; a four hour drive from inland NSW (Orange). Pittwater, some of the best cruising grounds in the world. I have thousands of boating pictures...but non with Leica equipment, unfortunately. Dee, like your prime platypus playground (when are you going to change your avatar to a platypus?). It just looks a lovely spot to sit and contemplate, or do no thinking at all! All the best Dave S

platypus Posted December 3, 2015 Share #340 Posted December 3, 2015 (edited) Les, Shannonvale: a fine photo of beautiful mountain scenery. It is undeniably sad to see the eucalyptus die-back, or the bush fire damage, that so many of the trees in the Snowys have sustained, but it does make the image graphic! I wondered if this was taken along the Australian Alps Walking Track route? Oh yes!...no platypus avatar, that would be such a cliche!
