Bill W Posted May 28, 2007 Share #41 Posted May 28, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I rarely use my Nikon equipment now and I actually sold my D2X. It made no sense to keep that body just sitting around. I still have a D200 and D80 and several zooms. The wife has a D40X she loves with the 18 to 135 zoom. But the Nikon stuff mostly just sits there.

guidomo Posted May 28, 2007 Share #42 Posted May 28, 2007 I don't use my M8 when I am taking a photo of ... IT. (Yes, I only have one.)
tom0511 Posted May 28, 2007 Share #43 Posted May 28, 2007 I really enjoy the M8 a lot, but while I can shoot moving kids with the d200 or d2x and a 85mm lens at f2 it is-for me very hard to photograph kids in action with the M8 and a short telephoto lens. Yes, if you get a sharp image it usually looks better than that from the d200, but for me it includes a lot of luck. What I do is shoot shorter lenses with the M8, which helps a bit. Still includes some luck. For some years I only was shooting with an M6 and during that time it worked fione for me. But after adding a SLR with AF I explored that there are other things which just work better (for me) with AF, I also re-explored tele. I found out that I had limited my shooting by only using the M. Therefore I will not go the same way again. The M8 works for 80% of my shooting great, but not for the leaving 20%. (action and tele) cheers, Tom
